Deepdale is a football stadium in Preston, home of Preston North End and touted as the "oldest 'continuously used' football stadium in the world.” On January 21 1875, North End sports club leased Deepdale Farm and built the stadium, which was originally used for cricket and rugby. The first association football game on the grounds was played on October 5 1878. Since then the stadium has become an all-seater venue with a capacity of 23,404 people.
